Mrs. Amanda Such

Hi there from Mrs. Such! This is my 7th year teaching 1st grade and I absolutely love it. I am a past Lamont Gator and can proudly say I graduated in the biggest class from LCS; 19 kids! From there I went on to Unity Christian and completed my teacher training at Cornerstone University.
First grade is my favorite because it the year of SO much for the kids. I especially love watching them develop as a reader and find their love for books. There is no set day or time but one day, it just "clicks" for the kids. The looks on their faces is priceless when they realize what they've accomplished. One of my other favorite subjects to teach the kids is Bible. We "act" out and bring to life our Bible stories nearly everyday. I think it makes it more personable for the kids if they "put their feet" in the characters' shoes and really think about how/what they are feeling and experiencing. Samson and Esther are my two favorite characters to study with the kids! |
What I love about LCS
- Close-knit community of believers that love and support each other. I always say that we are like a giant family where everyone looks out for each other.
- Small class sizes! I love that each student can receive the help they need or appropriate skill level challenges/gifts.
- Privilege of praying in school and teaching the kids how to pray about anything; from family matters, pets, and the world. God hears big and small requests.
A little bit about Mrs. Such...
I am married to Collin Such. We live in Nunica and love our home/property. It has plenty of room for our pets and all the fun things we like to do. We've added to our home and we finally have a garage! We have a son named Cooper Frank and we couldn't adore him more. He's such a ham, super smiley, and just a really content baby. He's crawling and proudly getting into things he shouldn't be. Cooper LOVES tractors, trucks, dogs, and being outside. He'll be 1 right after Christmas! We have two dogs, Daisy and Boomer. There aren't enough hours in the day for all the fetch, snacks from the neighbor, naps, barking at the UPS guys, or scratches for these two crazy pups. I also have two horses, Love and Liberty. Love acts completely opposite of her name most of the time but is a fun horse to ride. Liberty is 100% blind but that doesn't stop her from riding and pulling her cart. I love that they're right on our property so I can ride/drive whenever I please. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Life has not always been easy or gracious but looking back, I am where I am today because of God's love, goodness, and His strength. Being hired at LCS is a big part of my story and an instance of renewed strength through Him after some very hard life circumstances. God is good! |
